Severus Snape is quite an asshole.
Let’s take his teaching skills for example. We know for a fact that this man is a potions genius, what with the whole, ‘crush the bean with flat side of the knife to get more juice’ and ‘add a clockwise stir after seven counter clockwise stirs.’ But for all his innovation and stuff, it’s only one student (Hermione, according to Harry’s perspective) that always gets the potion correct. They use the instructions that Snape puts up on the board, Snape the potions genius, and yet a majority of the students fail so drastically. By creating such a toxic learning environment, he effectively ruins everybody’s potential.
What a teacher to have, great job.
Actually, you’re wildly incorrect.
In book 5 umbitch says outright, that his class is advanced and thriving. Please note, that she says this like it’s a bad thing - that teaching your students an advanced curriculum is the worst thing you could possibly do.
See, the thing I couldn’t help notice is that you use Harry’s perspective to judge everyone else. He’s biased and doesn’t have contact with everyone else in the school, nor does he attend every potions class. All he knows is that he, Ron and Neville aren’t doing so well. Well, Harry and Ron are lazy and Neville is struggling in every class except for herbology.
Therefore, saying that ‘everyone is struggling and failing’ because of the actions of three - is wildly incorrect.
